What is Fairplay?

We will do our very best to give you the most competitive fixtures we can. By that we mean we will pair you with teams of similar ability where both teams will need to play at their very best in order to win. Sometimes we get this wrong or other circumstances mean that one team may not be performing at their best.

Fairplay is about recognising that the teams are not fairly matched and instead of pressing on regardless until the final whistle with a game that is not benefiting the development of either team, both team’s coaching staff look at ways to change the game so that both teams continue to benefit from the experience.

What is the Whole Game System?

The WHOLE GAME SYSTEM (WGS) is The FA’s new IT system that provides County Football Associations, leagues, clubs, referees, and players with an integrated tool that provides the wider football workforce with a streamlined and accessible administrative experience.

What is FULL-TIME?

FULL-TIME is a league administration system offered to FA affiliated leagues. It was launched in October 2003 and is currently used by over 800 leagues. FULL-TIME is used by league officials to manage the day to day running of a league,  with tools for arranging fixtures, results, statistics, league tables, management of player registration and referee appointments, and communication.

In 2016 FULL-TIME was integrated with the WHOLE GAME SYSTEM, so providing seamless integration between club affiliation, league application, and player registration.

How much will it cost to enter a team?

We completely understand that the current situation has put a tremendous strain on the finances of Clubs and their members. Given the curtailment of the 2019-2020 season and the possible delay to the next, we have decided that we will not be charging clubs an entrance fee for the 2020-2021 season.


MATCHDAY is The FA’s free official match day app that has been developed specifically to automate everything around your football life – whether you’re a player, club secretary, manager or coach.

Who’s in the team? Who are the opponents? Where’s the game? When’s kick-off? Is anyone currently suspended?

With MATCHDAY, all the answers are instantly available at your fingertips. And it’s all in a safe and secure environment, backed by The FA who ensure it has up-to-date and comprehensive information on players, clubs, fixtures and leagues.

Team administrators can also use the app to submit scores and match reports to their league.

It’s often said that time is our most precious commodity. The main aim of MATCHDAY is to save you time, so you can confidently enjoy the game you love, knowing your football life is sorted.

How do I get a login for this site?

We will create your account when your club’s affiliation to your County FA as been processed. You should get an email from us inviting you to complete your account set-up. If you have not received this email please check your junk mail folder.

If you can’t find there you will need to make sure that your club’s secretary has set you up with one of the following roles in the Whole Game System (WGS):

  • Manager
  • Manager (asst)
  • Team Secretary

You must also make sure that your email address (personal) and mobile phone number in WGS are correct and up to date.

Once you have verified that the above conditions have been met, drop us a note and we will get you sorted.

Where can I find the contact details to confirm my fixture?

The contact details of all team administrators can be found in the Club Directory on this website. In order to access the Club Directory, you will need to be logged in to this website.

Do we need to be a Charter Standard club?

Yes, as a Charter Standard league, member clubs need to be FA accredited. If your club is not FA accredited you may still enter teams on the understanding that you apply for accreditation before they start playing.

Once accredited, you will need to undertake an annual health check to maintain your accreditation.

Will we need to pay a deposit?

No, we do not require a club deposit on joining.

Do we need to register our players?

Yes, you will need to register your players via the Whole Game System before they play.

For the season 2021/2022, it will be a requirement for all affiliated football to register players, with an email address.

For players 16 and under, you can find guidance on how to easily attach a Parent or Guardian with their email address to the youth player here.

Can we register a player to more than one team?

Yes, a player can be registered to any number of teams within your club, so long as they meet the age restrictions for the team’s age-group.

Do we need to pay a player registration fee?

No, we do not charge a fee to register players.
